Community Support Day (Thursday Only)

What Is Community Support Day

To support vulnerable and concession-eligible members of our community, we offer a Community Support Day every Thursday at our clinic.

On this day, we provide reduced-fee acupuncture treatments for individuals who hold a valid Australian concession card or belong to priority community groups. This initiative aims to make traditional Chinese medicine more accessible and affordable for those who need ongoing care.

Our Purpose

The Community Support Day is designed to:

  • Improve access to acupuncture services for concession card holders and underserved community members
  • Support patients requiring regular or ongoing care
  • Encourage early and consistent engagement with traditional Chinese medicine
  • Give back to the local Australian community we serve, particularly those facing financial barriers to healthcare
  • Promote equity in healthcare by making quality treatments more affordable

We believe healthcare should be accessible to everyone, regardless of financial circumstances. This program helps more people incorporate acupuncture into their overall wellbeing plan.

Who Are Eligible

Community Support Day is particularly suitable for individuals who:

  • Hold a Pensioner Concession Card, Health Care Card, Commonwealth Seniors Health Card, or Veterans Gold Card
  • Receive Disability Support Pension with a concession card
  • Are seniors (Aged 65+)
  • Are veterans, carers with eligible cards

Whether you are new to acupuncture or already receiving treatment, this day provides a supportive and affordable environment.

What to Wear

During Community Support Day , full disrobing is not required, as treatment is typically focused on accessible areas such as the arms and legs.

Treatments may be provided in a shared space where patient privacy and dignity are respected at all times. You may occasionally hear other patients receiving treatment. We aim to maintain a respectful, calm, and comfortable environment for everyone.

All treatments are conducted in a professional manner consistent with community-style acupuncture settings commonly used in public and charitable clinics.

If you prefer a private treatment room, please contact us to arrange a private consultation.

Community Support Day may not be suitable for everyone. If you feel uncomfortable with a shared treatment environment, you may wish to consider whether this setting is appropriate for you.

We recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the arms, legs, hands, and feet while seated in a treatment chair
